IRISH ANNOUNCE PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE

Irish Canadians of the Marshall Premiereship will begin their 58th rugby season with a pre-season game in Oshawa on Saturday, April 19, the club has announced. This will be the first meeting with the Vikings since May 1991, a 52-6 win for the Irish.

The Irish, coming off an injury time loss to Balmy Beach in last years semi final (22-17) will be hoping to improve on last years third place finish when they kick off next month.

Other pre-season games have been scheduled against old rivals Buffalo RFC in Buffalo on April 26 and at perennial pre-season hosts Burlington on May 3.

The greens look to open the league schedule on May 10 at Fletchers Fields against Toronto Scottish, who finished second in the Keenan Division last season and were promoted when Brantford declined their MPL invitation.

In the meanwhile, the club continues training on Saturday evenings at BMO Field, Exhibition Place, at 6 pm, and will participate in the second annual MPL Steam Whistle 7s at BMO on Sunday, March 30 at 4 pm.
