IRISH AT DETROIT TO OPEN PRE-SEASON

The ICRC will open the pre-season portion of the 2001 season at Detroit on Saturday, April 14.  The first XV will play at 1PM and the development side at 2:30PM.  "Detroit play in the Second Division of US Rugby, with teams like Albany, Rochester and so on and we think that is roughly your level," said Detroit president Larry Zimmerman.  Told of the Irish win at Dallas, Zimmerman replied " well, you must have played their seconds." (Ho, ho, ho, we shall see about that!-ed.)

As Friday 13th is Good Friday, plans currently call for departure that day, and if there is enough interest, we may arrange a group trip to Comerica Park to see the Tigers game that afternoon. Detroit is approximately 3 3/34 hours from Toronto and 1.5 hours from London.
