ICRC COACHING NEWS

Irish flanker Tim Matthews has been named assistant coach of the Ontario U17 side this summer, working with Ron Pither on this successful age grade side.

Matthews, who resumes his Irish playing career this year after a year at the Pacific Pride, will bring his knowledge and enthusiasm to the Ontario scene and looks to have a dynamic season on the pitch as well.

In other news, club coach Mark Winokur will be spending a week in the UK with National One Side Newbury and Guinness Premiership club London Irish, as a guest of the RFU.  Winokur will be attending meetings and sessions with both clubs all week and looks forward to bringing some leading-edge coaching methods home with him just prior to the start of the pre-season.

The club begins outdoor training on April 1, ahead of the pre-season opener on Sunday April 9 at Ivor Wynne Stadium against Niagara of the RCSL, noon KO.
