TWO TOP ONTARIO COACHES TO VISIT VICTORIA
Two Marshall Division coaches
will spend five days in Victoria BC next week to try to learn more about the
magic Pacific Pride have been working in the BCRU.
Mark Winokur of the Irish Canadians and Mark Jutronich of Oakville Crusaders,
who between them have coached three of the last four McCormick Cup winning
sides, will be guests of the Pride next week, in addition to attending other
club sessions and games on the Island.
Besides attending sessions Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, the two
will also spend time at Castaway Wanderers, James Bay and UVic, then will attend
a match on Saturday, either Pac Pride vs. Bayside or James Bay vs. Capilano.
They also will meet with various Pac Pride personnel including coaches, physio
and selectors in the hopes of bringing some helpful hints back for the upcoming
Marshall Division season.
"We hope to pick up on some things that can help make a difference,"
said Winokur " and also to just generally improve communication between the
two regions - I was shocked at how little we knew about each other when we were
there in December."
The trip is being partially funded, but any donations from club members will be
gladly accepted.
