ICRC Alumnus Jonathan Ashley to play in the PowerGen Vase Final at Twickenham

Former Prop Jon Ashley, who left the Irish after 12 seasons to move to England in 2003, has been playing with the Sheffield Tigers of the Yorkshire League 2 for the 2004 / 2005 season.

Ashley, who was the ICRC's first professional rugby player when he signed with Rotherham while in National Division 2 (2001), has been a try scoring machine during his time in Sheffield.  Jon has been joined by fellow Canadians and former internationals Harry Toews, Ed Knaggs and Mike Schmid, his team-mate at Rotherham.

Ash played professionally for Coventry with Canadian internationals John Cannon & Jared Barker before joining the Tigers this season.

The Tigers had a fantastic season, gaining promotion into Yorkshire League One for next season.  With their win over Sidmouth on March 5th, the Tigers have reached Twickenham for the 2nd time in 5 years.

Congratulations to Jon Ashley and the Sheffield Tigers!!
