Rugby Ontario Announces 2005 Hall of Fame Inductees & Mitre Player Award Finalists

Toronto- Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce the Hall of Fame Inductees for 2005.  Four outstanding members of the rugby community will be inducted into the Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame on November 26, 2005 for their outstanding contributions to the sport of rugby in Ontario .

The Hall of Fame inductions are part of Rugby Ontario ’s Closing Weekend which includes strategic planning sessions, the Hall of Fame & Mitre Players Awards Dinner and the 2005 Rugby Ontario AGM.

Recognizing their outstanding contributions to the sport of rugby in Ontario , the following individuals will be inducted: Hedley Benyon, Brampton Beavers, Ian Nicol, Toronto Scottish, Jim McCann, Niagara Rugby Referees Society, and Heather Ambrose, Balmy Beach RFC.

Other Awards to be presented are the Mitre Ontario Senior League Awards and the Branch Players of the Year. This includes both the Ontario Women’s League’s; Rookie of the Year; Coach of the Year; Player of the Year and the Ontario League’s; Rookie of the Year; Coach of the Year and Player of the Year.
