Irish Canadian Rugby Club players Dean Maclean, Ramzi Azar, Istvan Mozes, Darcy Longpre, Gerard Sauve, Ed Gardner, Simon Jackson, and 1st team captain Jon Ashley all make appearances in the new Molson Canadian Commercial, released in time for Canada Day, 2001.

The lads really have to stretch to the very limits of their thespian abilities, playing, of course, rugby players.  They appear about halfway through the 90 second spot, preparing to scrummage against each other in the pouring rain.  The rain was piped in directly from Lake Ontario and the water temperature was apparently hovering around 5° Celsius.  Major shrinkage was reported.

This commercial continues a growing side career for some players.  This is the second commercial for Ramzi Azar, as he starred in Elevators Buttons for the Horseshoe Casino in the USA.  He's also appeared on bus shelters in an ad for a major shopping mall.  Jon Ashley and Dean Maclean were in a bus shelter ad with Neil Maxwell for Brita Water Bottles.  Also, Scott Boland appeared with former Irish Lock Tom Moppett in a commercial which aired in the States.  They were asked to play the roles of, you guessed it, rugby players.
