League Game

CRU TOPS DEVELOPMENT SIDE

In a week disjointed by the Renegades late scheduling, Crusaders II defeated Irish II by 22-3 at Oakville on Saturday.

A very close game blew open in the last two minutes only, as Cru pressure resulted in two late tries to open up a 10-3 game.

Both sides displayed lots of talent and hard-hitting rugby; Oakville's commitment to regular training made the difference in the end.

The first XV fixture, sure to be critical in the league standings, was rescheduled to Wednesday, June 27 at Crusader Park after the Renegades game with Montreal, featuring five ICRC players, was confirmed less than a week beforehand.

The Timberwolves started off their match on the wrong foot, and were unable to stage a comeback in the 2nd half, eventually falling by a score of 32-5.

All three teams are at Yeomen this Saturday. The Yeomen "pitch" (to use the term loosely) is located on the south side of Highway 7 just west of  Highway 50 in the Clairville Conservation area.

Squad:  Rob Galbriath (Captain), Frank Attaie, Ryan Carr, Rob Steinhoff, Jon Morrisey, Alex Gawel, Tim Matthews, Kipp Wotherspoon, Andy Harrison, Ian Van Kerrebroeck, Jeff Goudie (James Berry - 35 minutes), Henry Miers, Tom Madden, Jan Gawel, Glenn Howard (Mark Robinson - 40 minutes)
