Cru down Irish to take top spot

A fired up Crusaders side moved past Irish Canadians 35-12 in a Thursday night Marshall Division game to take top spot in the division by two bonus over the Irish.  Both teams are 6-1 on the season.

Cru trailed early after a George Azar score, but scored in the 32nd, 37th and 46th minute of the half to lead 21-5 at the break.

An early Cru score in the second half took all the wind out of the undermanned Irish team, who nonetheless responded with a Luke Boss score to narrow the gap to 28-12.  A penalty try in the 43rd minute of the second half wrapped up the scoring for the Cru, who were led by excellent play from fly half Robbie Wolfenden and flanker Sean Michael Stephen.

The Cru travel to Fergus on August 9, while the Irish head to Brantford that day to resume league play.
